Rust Dying

 I have been rust dying fabric for over 20 years. 

 It’s always exciting to unveil new markings. 

Collecting different rusty objects gives me a variety of choices when trying to create unique surface designs.  Sometimes I will go to the desert and use abandoned cars to rust larger pieces.

Over the years I have been refining my process to gain more control of the outcome and to maximize the markings, but I will admit, the accidents and unintentional marks are often the best.
